Management - Operations & maintenance Off-road vehicle and travel management
activity review. (1986). National Forest Service. Team of USFS Engineering and Recreation staffers visited three Forests in three Regions (9 in all) to examine five areas of concern in Forest Plan implementation. Lists the strengths and weaknesses in each individual Forest OHV program, and explains why the good ones were good and the poor ones were poor. Provides specific answers to overcoming common difficulties in completing site-specific analyses and project work. Concludes with 18 recommendations for improving OHV management and resource protection based on the successful Forests, existing Forest Service Handbook management direction, and proven recreation management principles.
