Management - Use limits & carrying capacities Armbruster, F., Brown, W.M., & Thomas, J.P. (1980). Energy and recreation: An overview of energy availability and utilization for recreational use. American Recreation Coalition. Abstract The study examines two basic issues: present (1980) U.S. energy situation
and energy needs through the year 2000, with particular emphasis on recreational
requirements. Direct recreational fuel use was determined to represent
about 4.4 percent of total car fuel use in the U.S. at present (1980).
Maximum recreational fuel requirement projections for 1985 and 2000 are
somewhat above present levels, but minimum and median requirements are
below them. |
