Management - Safety

4-H community ATV safety program. (Evaluation research progress report).

Abstract

A report evaluating the effectiveness of the 4H ATV Safety Program aimed at youth under 16 years. Safety course participants were surveyed to collect several categories of information: demographics, attitude data, risk behavior data, and non-risk behavior data. The results were analyzed to determine if there was a trend was toward behavior changes that result in lower accident/injury rates, and if so, to determine if that trend was attributable to the training program, and, to further determine what specific aspects of the safety course were most effective in changing a course participant's attitude toward the safe operation of ATV's and other risky activities in general.
