Unknown. (1998). All-terrain vehicle exposure, injury, death, and risk studies. Bethesda, MD, U.S consumer product safety commission: 1-85. Abstract U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission report of 1998. Four different surveys of ATV riders, one cataloguing exposure (demographics), one cataloguing emergency room reports, one cataloguing fatalities and one, a risk analysis, were completed and analyzed. The result itemizes the dramatic reduction of injuries and the statistically significant decline in fatalities since the inception of the national training program and various regulations restricting the sale of ATV's. In the risk analysis, the respondents who were not involved in accidents were compared to those who were, in an attempt to identify recurring behavior patterns associated with injury accidents.
