Management - Programs (volunteers, youth etc.)

Bell, D. Outdoor recreation as a motivational tool for youth. National Off-Highway Vehicle Conservation Council: 1-3.

Abstract

Why and how the Off-Road PALS Program works so effectively for at-risk youth. This is an apt and concise description of how OHV's, which tend to have a magnetic attraction for these kids, can be used to teach personal and civic responsibility, the same as youth Wilderness outings and youth mountain bike challenges. The author outlines the difficulties that these programs face and what they need to maintain operations in urban areas. Includes a list of program contacts.
