Abstract

The report is the result of intensive study of off-road vehicles, their use and the environmental impact. It is the first attempt of the Federal Government to evaluate in depth and report on the role of such vehicles as an accepted recreational activity and the effect of such use on the Nation's resource base. Covers the basic mechanics of conducting the study; the ORRV description; ORRV use; impacts of ORRVs; and federal/state legislation.
