Abstract
Issues concerning snowmobiles and their use in national parks
are discussed: (1) Snowmobile use should be limited to unplowed forest
roads; (2) Harassment of wildlife by snowmobilers; (3) Damage to vegetation
and wildlife; and (4) The disruption of other visitors. Recommendations
for regulations are given.
