Abstract This non-technical article addresses concerns about the impacts of snowmobiles on the environment, especially wildlife such as: (1) intensive use of the most popular snowmobile trails, (2) increasing encroachment into more remote areas, (3) the harassment of wildlife by snowmobiler’s, and (4) The presence of snowmobiles in critical wintering areas for wildlife.
