Abstract

This paper discusses the three most popular classes of ORV’s: Motorcycles, snowmobiles and ATVs. Sociological and policy aspects of off-road vehicles are avoided. It concentrates on the effects on the four generally recognized areas of environmental pollution: noise, air, water and ground. Noise is little affected. Air is little affected. Water is little affected. Surface disturbance is the major concern.
